At Phenomenome Discoveries, we ask the simple but difficult question, “why?” Why did your sister get ovarian cancer but you did not? Why did your dad get Alzheimer’s but your mom did not? Why are we getting better at treating a disease, but appear powerless to prevent it? Through our research, we hope to understand why a person gets a disease. By understanding how diseases arise, we can develop tools to identify high-risk people. These people then become the focus of our preventative research, which involves developing therapies to treat the cause of a disease before a person becomes sick. Our goal is to improve health and reduce disease mortality by reducing disease incidence, one disease at a time.
